How do iron oxides protect against blue light and reduce pigmentation?

Unlike zinc oxide and titanium dioxide, which mainly protect against UV, iron oxides extend protection into the visible light spectrum. Studies show they help reduce melanin stimulation from blue light, which can worsen melasma and other hyperpigmentation. Their tint also helps neutralize redness and even skin tone for a natural finish.

    Works good but definitely light coverage

    I usually use Alastin tinted sunscreen as my main every day makeup but I’m always up for trying new products. What I liked about this sunscreen is it’s a lighter shade than the Alastin so I’m not forced to have a darker fake tan to have Alastin to match. It applies great with a damp beauty sponge, the only issue is it doesn’t cover as well as the Alastin sunscreen does. But the finish on it after applying powder, blush and bronzer looks very hydrating and natural. I am still very happy with this sunscreen and will have this in rotation.

    Left a cast

    For reference, I wear 420 in the Fenty foundation. The tinted sunscreen left a purple cast. The texture, how well it worked with my other skincare products, or the appearance under makeup was not considered.

    Mineral Fix

    I actually like the texture just a natural somewhat dewy finish but the tint is a medium dark tone and it oxidizes as the day goes on. If the tint was lighter I would be able to use it… my skin tone is light neutral just for reference. By the end of the day I looked like I had a tan… not good at all.
